Hi All,
This is Sally. I am responsible for the client Help Desk and Support at CA Technology. Everyday I am asked various questions regarding our software, whether it is through a phone call or an email. Queries range from simple functionality enquires or user problems that clients have stumbled across, to specific client change requests.
The purpose of this web page is to try to collectively address some of the more common issues that as a user group many of you may face.
Problem: “I cannot update my quarterly, monthly or annual KPI’s through the KPI Quick Update. I cannot type into the actual fields”
Solution: Firstly, KPI’s must have targets set against them before any actual data can be put in via the KPI Quick Update area. KPI targets are put in via the Planning > KPI area. Also, KPI actual data cannot be put in until the period is finished. For example, until the Monthly KPI actual for July can be put in, the month must be finished. As Quick Update is YTD, it only shows the last 3 periods which you can update. Alternatively, if you require actual data to be put in before the period is finished, you may add it in through the Planning > KPI area.
Problem: “We have now completed the stage 1 rollover and I have discovered that not all interplan® users have access to the current and next period tabs on their screens?”
Solution: You need to activate the system settings for rollover system periods. Under Administration > System Settings, you tick the “System Period Permission Boost” which allows ALL users to automatically view the system periods (current and next). If you require only selected users to view this, you then un-tick the “System Period Permission Boost”, and only tick the “Show System Period Panel” setting. Then you can allocate those users through “Manage Users” to have the security level “Next Business Cycle” activated for this functionality.
Problem: “I am trying to delete a KPI, however the system notifies me that I am ‘Unable to delete the requested record because other records are dependent on it which must be deleted first’, however I am unsure where it is linked?”
Solution: The KPI is either linked to a) the Organisational or Planning trees b) linked into a scorecard or dashboard or c) linked into an executive report. You may run the KPI linkages report to try and find if it is linked in the trees, which is located under Reporting > Performance Management > KPI Linkages Report. This report will show what that KPI is linked to. This link must first be deleted before deleting the KPI.
Coming Soon
I look forward to hearing from you, and hopefully I can be of some assistance in resolving those tricky questions.
